Alexandrea Procida is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice bridges graphic design, installation, craft, and cultural research. Working across both digital and physical mediums, she creates concept-driven work that explores memory, identity, symbolism, and the tension between collective ideals and lived experience.

Originally from California and raised in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, Procida’s perspective has been shaped by movement, adaptation, and place. After relocating to Virginia, she earned an Associate of Applied Arts in Graphic Design from Tidewater Community College before completing a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic Design at Christopher Newport University. She also studied American Studies and Digital Humanities and graduated with Major with Distinction.

At Christopher Newport University, she participated in the Office of Research and Creative Activity’s Research Apprentice and Summer Scholars programs, where she explored intellectual property, innovation, and the role of creativity within research. She also presented at the Paideia Conference and developed an interdisciplinary practice grounded in both critical inquiry and material process.

Alexandrea works across graphic design, textiles, photography, mixed media, and large-scale installation. Her senior thesis installation, American Exceptionalism: With Liberty and Justice For..., received Best in Show recognition for exploring memorial labor and critiquing the normalization of violence. The work features hundreds of hand-sewn backpacks arranged in the form of an American flag.

Through all mediums, her work seeks to create meaningful visual experiences that challenge assumptions, invite reflection, and connect personal narrative with broader social themes.
